ISO 9223 C1-C5x Environmental Classification Tool
We developed www.iso9223.com to help engineers, asset managers, and material specialists estimate atmospheric corrosion classifications and expected material loss rates—using real-world environmental data.
Our platform now also provides estimated corrosion rates (µm/year) for Steel, Zinc, Copper, and Aluminum, making it easier to assess expected material degradation under current atmospheric exposure conditions. Aluminum, Copper, and Zinc, in Addition to Steel, are available through a paid API.
To improve clarity, our tool provides results in half-step increments. For example, a C1.5 classification indicates conditions between C1 and C2, but more closely aligned with C2.
📅 Data Update: As of April 8, 2025 , all values reflect 5-year trailing environmental averages (2019–2023) for more reliable, time-averaged predictions. Updated Chlorides after prior release.
📅 Data Update: As of July 1, 2025 , all values reflect 5-year trailing environmental averages (2020–2024) for more reliable, time-averaged predictions.
